  • Bulk waste

    Waste Management

    Bulk waste is collected upon request.

    It includes waste wood, electrical appliances, and metal parts.

    Each household registered for waste disposal has the opportunity to have bulk waste picked up up to 6 times a year (up to 5 cubic meters per pickup).

    Please place the bulk waste on the curb before 6 a.m. on the collection day but not before the day prior 6 p.m.

  • Collection dates

    In Spangdahlem, garbage is collected on Thursdays or Mondays.

    Non-recyclable waste ("Restmüll"; black can) is picked up every other week on Thursdays. 

    Recyclable materials ("Gelber Sack"; yellow bags) and paper waste ("Altpapier"; blue can) are collected every 4 weeks on Mondays. Please place the respective waste can at the curb by 6 a.m. on collection day.

    Please check the waste collection schedule to find out the specific dates for the collection of the different kinds of waste.

    To ensure high-quality compost, it is essential that the collection point is not contaminated by other waste.

    What you may dump:

    - clippings of trees and hedges, trunks and root stocks without soil with a max. diameter of 40 cm

    - grass clippings

    - leaves

    - plants

    - plant parts

    What you may NOT dump:

    - biodegradable waste such as fruit, vegetables, food leftovers

    - construction waste

    - grave decorations

    - non-recyclable waste

    - pet litter

    - root stocks and hedges exceeding 40 cm diameter

    - stones

    - straw and hay

    - timber and furniture wood

    - used clothes

    - windfalls

    - wooden fences

    Monday - Saturday: 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.

    It is not permitted to discard glass at other times. Particularly not on Sundays and German holidays.

    Correct separation

    Please put glass without lids, screw caps or corks, separated by color into the designated containers. Dumping glass, paper or other waste on or near the containers is prohibited and will be penalized as an administrative offense.

    What goes in the glass container

    Clean and empty non-returnable glass bottles, flasks and jars

    Glass of other colors: Please put glass that isn’t white, brown or green into the container for green glass.

    What does NOT go in the glass container

    chinaware, stoneware, glass panels/window panes, light bulbs, leaded glass, vases, heat-resistant glass
