Battery collection point
Bulk waste
Bulk waste is collected upon request.
Each household registered for waste disposal has the opportunity to have bulk waste picked up twice a year (up to 2 cubic meters per pickup).
Things that will be picked up are: old household items, furniture, carpets, suitcases
Things that will not be picked up: old electric devices, fences, bath tubs.

Collection dates
In Glan-Münchweiler, garbage is collected on Wednesdays.
Check the waste collection schedule for Glan-Münchweiler to find out when the different kinds of waste are going to be picked up.
Non-recyclable waste (grey can) is picked up every other week, alternating with the yellow bags for recyclable materials together with paper waste (blue can).
Glass (transparent garbage bag) is collected every 4 weeks together with paper waste and yellow bags. Please place the respective waste containers at the curb before 6 a.m. on the collection day.
Please put glass without lids, screw caps or corks into the transparent bags.

Waste separation
To ensure high-quality compost, it is essential that the collection point is not contaminated by other waste.
What you may dump:
- clippings of trees and hedges, trunks and root stocks without soil with a max. diameter of 40 cm
- grass clippings
- leaves
- plants
- plant parts
What you may NOT dump:
- biodegradable waste such as fruit, vegetables, food leftovers
- construction waste
- grave decorations
- non-recyclable waste
- pet litter
- root stocks and hedges exceeding 40 cm diameter
- stones
- straw and hay
- timber and furniture wood
- used clothes
- windfalls
- wooden fences
Hazardous waste truck
Collection point and dates
Hazardous waste includes everything that is harmful for humans, animals or the environment. For reasons of public safety it is not collected together with other waste.
Hazardous waste may under no circumstance be disposed of in household garbage cans or toilets.
Private households can take small amounts of hazardous waste free of charge to the hazardous waste truck (“Umweltmobil”). The hazardous waste truck also accepts small electric appliances. The hazardous waste truck stops in Glan-Münchweiler at the train station. Please check the website of the waste management office for the dates.
What can be taken to the hazardous waste truck
Paints and varnishes, all types of batteries, medicine without packaging, pesticides and wood preservers, leaches, acids, diluents, other toxins and hazardous substances and chemicals.
